Given the unique and relatively isolated location of the Maltese islands, excursions are generally only possible within the country itself (although some people choose to do a twin centre holiday combining Malta and Sicily). Whilst many holidaymakers never leave their resort let alone the island of Malta, we would strongly recommend a trip to Gozo and/or Comino as well as making the effort to visit the the capital Valletta and the stunning city of Mdina.
