Located in the north of Malta, Mellieha (pronounced "mell-ee-ah") may at first seem slightly isolated compared to some of the other resorts on the island, however, this is of course very much part of the charm for some people. At only 45 minutes transfer time from the airport, visitors have the advantage of having the fabulous sandy beach at Mellieha Bay which is the largest in Malta. There are good transport links with the rest of the island and it is especially well positioned for visiting either Gozo or Comino. As you might expect with a beach resort, it has a great range of hotel accommodation as well as plenty of restaurants, bars and shops.
