Just along the coast from St. Julians (about 25 minutes walk) on the north shore of Malta, Sliema (pronounced "slee-ma") is an ever popular location for tourists. Although quieter than its neighbours it has broad appeal through its advantageous location for exploring the rest of the island. In addition, it has swimmable rocky beaches with crystal-clear azure waters as well as great facilities in terms of the range of hotels it offers. Night-life is not as prevalent as in St. Julians but for night owls, a leisurely coastal stroll soon brings you to the heart of the action.
