Put simply, Valletta is one of the most fascinating historical cities in the Mediterranean if not the whole of Europe. Built by the Knights of Malta and with Unesco World Heritage status, it has one of the most concentrated areas of historical interest in the world.
Valletta makes an excellent choice for a city break particularly for those seeking history, culture and shopping in the Mediterranean sunshine. As with any capital city, it has a wide range of accommodation options as well as restaurants and shopping. Night-life can be limited compared to the traditional tourist areas although there is much more available in the neighbouring Three Cities and the hub hub of St Julians is only a short (and reasonably priced) taxi ride.
